Notice of Rule Change

The Commission has proposed an amendment to its Operating Procedures and Rules - 22 NYCRR 7000.6(e) - to clarify that only the referee has subpoena issuing power in Commission hearings. The notice of proposed rulemaking, which includes the full text of the proposed rule, is available here.

Matter of Joan M. Kline

The Commission has determined that Joan M. Kline, a Justice of the Guilford Town Court, the Oxford Town Court and the Oxford Village Court (Chenango County), should be censured. Matter of Christopher C. Clarkin

The Commission has released a decision dated December 8, 2017, that Floyd Town Court, Oriskany Village Court and Whitesboro Village Court Justice Christopher C. Clarkin (Oneida County), has agreed to vacate his judicial office effective December 31, 2017, and agreed never to seek or accept judicial office in the future. The New York State Court of Appeals has accepted the Commission's Determination that J. Marshall Ayres, a Justice of the Conklin Town Court (Broome County), should be removed from office.
